Living Peace

Tucked away on an outdoor wall of a garage, folk art with a shelf life of whatever the elements determine. Oftimes in the field just up the road there is fresh fruits and veggies along with jams and kettle corn for sale. More than once I have sat on a tree stump or log and ate an apple and just stared, taking a break on my way south.

I Gotta Right To Sing The Blues

I'm old, I've worked hard and served my purpose. I'm no longer as handsome as I once was and some things just plain don't work. I sit out here in the back pasture, just biding my time.

On The Sunny Side Of The street

I risked life and limb* for this photo, Hanging from a chain link fence on the wrong side of the bridge from the walkway. 50 yards to the left is the Potomac River, these tracks run parallel to the Yankee side,

* Well maybe that is an exaggeration, but people sure looked at me funny. The view from the scary area was way cooler than down below the bridge.

Mid The Green Fields of Virginia

Lonely, desolate and worn down, a recurring theme on America's backroads and byways. A recurring theme on this blog as well.

Boxcars

Railways have always fascinated me. Train yards are cool. The fantasy of hopping the boxcar while far outdated makes me wish for a simpler time. Except for the part where I am hungry, cold and sleeping on the floor. That might suck.

A Thousand Miles from Nowhere

I love this heap sitting on the side of the road just 300 miles away from Chez Hook. Passed it a half dozen times before snapping this. Next time I passed through it was gone.
